Why You Need a Vitamin C Serum

When you reach a certain age, the damage that you've done to your skin and even your diet starts to show up. Years of sunbathing, not reapplying your sunscreen, all those deep fried foods and even those late-night drinks with the girls, all play havoc with how we age.

I don't mind aging, but I want to age beautifully. I am from Hawaii and naturally love the sun and beach. I would rather take precautions than worry incessantly about sun-damage. Life is too short to not live in the moment. Don't you agree?

These past few years, I've started to notice a few sunspots forming on my face, chest, and hands. Not a lot, but I am a firm believer in taking action while things are in its infancy stage. It is a lot easier to squash those suckers early on than to wait for it to grow and darken. I am not at the stage where I feel I need any invasive treatments. Right now, I would rather tackle it with a balanced and clean diet and upgrade my skincare routine.

There are a lot of GREAT products that work well in lightening up sunspots on the market today. But my issue has always been an ethical one. I want something that is strong enough to actually work but also, they need to be cruelty-free, toxic-free and vegan. Also, a lot of vitamin c serums on the market are chemically altered.

So why should you add an extra step to your skincare routine?

1. Vitamin C serum adds an extra boost to your sunscreen in warding off UVA/UVB rays from the sun.

2. We all know that Vitamin C helps build collagen in your skin. Thus, making your skin brighter, even-toned and supple.

3. If you can find a vitamin c serum that is plant-based, then you have the added benefits of reaping the emotional aspects that plants naturally give us. Some feelings are a sense of happiness, light-hearted and feeling energized.

Continued use of a Vitamin C Serum will protect you from further sun damage, give you that youthful glow, even out redness and lighten sun spots! My sunspots are fading naturally!! Yey!
